About this calculator
How to use this tool
The denominator is the full strike obligation, before using any premium credit. Your broker may display buying power differently. Cash is assumed available to pay for every assigned share.
Effective purchase price subtracts net premium from strike; it is an economic measure, not tax basis. If the stock collapses, assignment can leave a loss far larger than the premium.
Worked example
A $100 put sold for $3 with 100 units reserves $10,000, earns $300 before fees and has an effective purchase price of $97.
