Record one complete trade or strategy sequence per entry. Include stock transactions when exercise or assignment creates shares. This journal summarizes cash flows and open-position values in USD; it does not fetch prices, reconstruct individual tax lots or send your entries to a server.
Record the decision and the economics
Enter positive totals in each money field. Net economic P/L is cash received − cash paid − fees + remaining asset value − remaining liability value. Exclude account deposits, withdrawals and internal collateral transfers. Include entry and exit premiums in cash totals; include only the current value of positions still open in assets and liabilities. This avoids double-counting closed positions.
Entries are saved in this browser when you add or update them. Export a copy for your own records.
Example: a still-open wheel position
After receiving $200 put premium and $100 from an expired call, paying $5,000 for assigned shares and $4 fees, suppose the shares are worth $4,200. Enter received 300, paid 5000, fees 4, assets 4200 and liabilities 0. The journal shows −$504. If a short call is still open, include its current closing value as a liability rather than treating its premium as entirely earned.
Use the record for review
Keep the original thesis when adding a later outcome, so hindsight does not rewrite the entry decision. Compare modeled and actual costs, note any rule deviation and separate a good outcome from a good process. Export regularly: private browsing, browser settings or clearing site data can remove local records. Avoid entering account numbers or credentials.
